Taranaki Regional Council Office

Clelands Construction was engaged as head contractor to deliver Taranaki Regional Council’s new 1,390m² office and seminar facility at its Stratford headquarters.

The project involved the construction of a purpose built workplace bringing together teams previously operating across several ageing buildings. The completed facility includes open plan office areas, meeting and collaboration spaces, staff amenities, seminar facilities and dedicated changing, shower, locker and drying facilities supporting TRC’s field based teams.

As head contractor, Clelands managed the full construction delivery, coordinating subcontractors, consultants, programme, site logistics, health and safety and quality throughout the build. Early works included the controlled excavation and removal of contaminated soil from the site, requiring careful management, handling and disposal before construction could progress.

Construction was undertaken within TRC’s existing operational site, requiring careful staging and coordination to maintain access and minimise disruption to staff, visitors and ongoing Council operations.

Sustainable construction, waste minimisation and long term maintainability were also important considerations throughout the project.
