St Joseph’s School Hāwera

This significant redevelopment project at St Joseph’s School Hāwera involved the complete demolition and removal of ageing classrooms and exterior landscaping, followed by the construction of 10 new architecturally designed classrooms and a 2,300m² outdoor learning and play area.

As Head Contractor, Clelands Construction has overseen all aspects of the project, from demolition to new build, coordinating trades and managing complex staging within an active school environment. Particular attention has been paid to health, safety, and minimising disruption to staff and students.

Clelands were a pleasure to work with. They were also highly accommodating of the school’s specific needs, working flexibly around our schedule and the practical requirements of a busy educational environment.

We were especially impressed by their respectful approach. At all times, the Clelands team ensured that they, and all the sub-contractors, showed great consideration for our staff, students,
and our Catholic values, ensuring that their presence and practices aligned with the ethos of our school community.
