At Clelands Construction, we’re proud to play a role in projects that leave a lasting legacy for our community. Recently, that commitment extended beyond the construction site and into the bush.

Our team has partnered with the Department of Conservation (DOC) to support predator control efforts in Te Papa-Kura-o-Taranaki. As part of this initiative, Clelands volunteers will regularly check, clear and reset traps along an allocated trapping line, helping protect native wildlife and contribute to the ongoing conservation work taking place throughout the park.

The experience gave our team a valuable insight into the work that happens behind the scenes to preserve one of Taranaki’s most treasured environments. It also highlighted the dedication of the DOC staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to protect the ngahere and the species that call it home.

The partnership is particularly meaningful as construction of the North Taranaki Visitor Centre continues to take shape. Our trapping route begins and ends at the visitor centre car park, creating a unique connection between the conservation efforts happening within the park and the construction project we’re proud to be delivering for Te Kotahitanga o Te Ātiawa.

If your business is interested in contributing to predator control or other conservation initiatives in Te Papa-Kura-o-Taranaki, we encourage you to get in touch with the DOC team to learn more about volunteer opportunities.
